About the Nai-Ni Chen Dance
Company
A blossom of color,
energy and motion, "Like endlessly proliferating forces of
cosmic energy," says the New York Times. The dances of Nai-Ni
Chen successfully combine the dynamic freedom of American modern dance
with the grace and splendor of Asian Art.
Choreographer/Dancer Nai-Ni
Chen is an artist whose work defies categorization, as each dance
reflects her personal vision as an Asian woman artist living in America
and working on new ideas from influences around the world.
The dancers of the Company, coming from diverse backgrounds, all
contribute to her unique, cross-cultural choreography.
Today, the Nai-Ni Chen
Dance Company is a leading dance company in the United States, reaching
a worldwide audience of 70,000
each year in a 40-week performance season as well as appearing on a
number of television specials on public television station PBS/NJN.
Touring throughout US,
Asia, and Europe, the Company also has been in residence at the Harlem
School of the Arts in New York and at the New Jersey Performing Arts
Center in Newark, NJ.
